Today, friends, it’s time to make an announcement: our relationship is about to change dramatically.
First, the particulars for all you newcomers: It’s Saturday, and that means we’re packing the coolers and I’m headed south from our farm with a huge selection of beef that’s hand raised by our family. That’s valuable food for any table, and no matter your cooking style or budget I can find the cut to match it. Local food novices are encouraged to visit and explore. Participate in the goodness by stopping by 2216 Penn Avenue and finding the blue tent right beside the extraordinary Bar Marco. I’ll be there from 9-12, so get yourself out of bed and motivated.
Now, the announcement: Starting in March, I’ll no longer be offering plastic bags for customers in Pittsburgh. Get in the habit now: bring cloth bags, boxes, coolers, a mule, or your kids to carry beef home from our market stand. If you forget to bring a beef hauling receptacle, fear not: our friends at All American are working out the details for a low cost, logo-stamped reusable bag that will become your best friend on a Saturday morning. Why is it your best friend? Because I will no longer have plastic bags. Remember that detail.
